See Singapore for such a country.
Singapore is a different deal than most countries in the world. Perhaps free speech and civil liberties are not as strong there, but that trade-off gains them freedom from other things. Singaporeans are largely free from lots of types of crime that effectively plague many other first-world countries.I think it would be nice if there were more countries that presented different types of trade-offs, and then some mechanism for people to decide what type of country they want to live in.
Singapore also has "draconian" laws, so it may not be as easy to replicate.
I'm glad Singapore doesn't subscribe to this notion.
You could be stuck in much worse place that Singapore. Get a little bit of perspective. Plenty of Singaporean thrive and prosper there.
Here in Singapore, you can bitch about it and not be jailed or murdered for it. We bitch about (everything) most of the time. We also have a healthy assumption that we are never going to be murdered in our lifetimes in Singapore, and that things do get better most of the time, which is more than can be said for America.
This isn't Singapore anything, it's just competent local government.
"Singapore is a progressive country"Perhaps financially but not for e.g. human rights - https://www.hrw.org/world-report/2015/country-chapters/singa... or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_rights_in_Singapore</
This is incorrect. Singapore is not a high censorship/low freedom society. You should visit countries before you trash them.
Singapore is the only well government country on your list. Nobody wants to live in one of these countries. Singapore has its audience.
