Maybe it's a limitation of Displayport?

I've wondered if it's a DisplayPort bandwidth thing.

I have a similar setup, but unfortunately I'm stuck with it because my Acer monitor doesn't support the necessary DDC commands

Are you using and HDMI cable? I found it solved the issue when I switched to DisplayPort.

What's with LG in general? It seems they often have problems with EDIDs.

That's the magic of displayport for you. It won't do that on HDMI, except with active converted from DP to HDMI :)

The fix for me was to use DisplayPort, if HDMI was in the mix it would have the reliability of a 90s monitor.

Someone posted somewhere that switching to an usb-c monitor fixed their issue (instead of usb-c to hdmi adapter). Anyone here have some experience with this?
