Maybe we Elon just wanted to destroy twitter. This might help
The hole in that theory is that by all appearances, Elon Musk really, really likes using Twitter. I don't think he wants to kill it. I think the madness is two-fold:(1) he approached this with a "pfft, I could run that business better than the bozos in charge" attitude -- it's not as if Twitter has been known for great management up to this point, right? -- but never actually came up with a plan beyond "not what they've been doing." After he initially
It's interesting in this day and age to see a platform degrade at the speed twitter did in quality, stability, user experience, etc. I suppose what's the most surprising is that it seems it was intentional. I wonder how much Musk has been sandboxed at Tesla and SpaceX? Perhaps he was encouraged to do the twitter deal to get him away from the other two companies. Like a shiny object to occupy him and his time.
Do people on HN still believe Elon isn't destroying Twitter?

I think he could’ve done that. I would’ve welcomed that. But his revelations mixed with his red pilling colors it badly. I voted yes and I’m a Tesla owner. He can’t run twitter because he’s too susceptible to the ego trip involved. He’s making rules from his personal POV, not from the perspective of the health of the platform or an actual fairness doctrine. He also has no plan… his successor needs a holistic strategic mindset and a business development methodology. Perhaps he had support from
I think that him taking over Twitter would be terrible for everyone involved. The general public would be better off if Tesla and/or SpaceX actually accomplished their stated goals. What they’ve done is great but they’re not done and need leadership.Twitter would be way worse off if he turned it into Gab or 4chan with an edit button. Both their product and their financials.Musk himself is turning into a cringy Twitter troll. If a friend of mine were acting like that I’d tell them to
People don't like sudden changes, that's it.Musk founded SpaceX and bought Tesla when it had like 6 employees, so everyone working in those two companies is used to his management style.Twitter was a huge and sort-of stagnant company, they must feel as if they were hit by a hurricane, and this filters out to all sorts of media including HN.Also, Twitter is all about publicity. We don't see what's happening within SpaceX, but we all watch whatever happens within Twitt
Maybe Elon is trying to do us all a favor and destroy Twitter by, ironically, embodying the worst qualities of Twitter.
Elon rebranded to run Twitter into the ground.
