That sounds sort of like the Olympics but for steroid-users.
lol "steroid junkie."Somewhat off-topic but still HN-relevant I think: PEDs aren't magic (still requires an absolutely massive amount of work to realize the benefits) and while I have no numbers to back it up, I'd wager usage is prevalent in most professional competitions. For pros, it's not just a game. It's a livelihood and I can't exactly fault them for doing what it takes to reach the top. I'm certainly not surprised or judgemental when they do.
Sounds like a justification for performance enhancing drugs.
Sounds a little bit like lance armstrong and steroids. If you don't do them, you're gonna lose because every one else is too.As bill burr said, our athletic roided up guy beat your athletic roided up guy.
Am I the only one against performance enhancing drugs?
Absolutely. See: doping, steroids.
I'd bet those "high performance work athletes" are probably also taking "performance enhancing drugs".
this is a risk even without PEDs though, right?
Most people are competing against people on steroids. They’re incredibly common.
I kind of read it as just taking performance enhancing drugs - a thing that's not too uncommon for peak athletes. Thinking of this like mental athletics, I can imagine folks taking drugs for that too (Adderall? :) )
