Looks like the beginning of the downfall of America.

I hate to say it, but it seems to be too late. I predict growth in discontent and discord, but little else ahead for the American experiment. The USA would be very lucky to fall as softly as Japan has since the 1980s. There's a complete vacuum of long-term thinking in America right now, and that erosion of thoughtful strategies will accelerate as desperation sets in. It's a shame to see such golden opportunities squandered, but humankind will have to adapt to the lessons from the fall

At a fundamental level, most american's don't think their government has their best interests in mind. They also think tribal membership affects your success and wellbeing. Conversly,US politicians have been reduced to entertainers and propagandists. This will not end good, even without russia, china and everyone else that would love to see america burn, things look very dire. Fasicism ,civil wars, foreign occupation are things I expect as real possibilities within the next 5-10 year

When shit breaks in the US, the whole world loses a decade. Not saying we're here yet, but we're close.

McCarthiesm and Vietnam and Japanese interment camps and slavery. Women and minorities didn't have rights. Native Americans weren't citizens. Companies owned towns and operated militaries against civilian labor. Life has been much worse and much more authoritarian in the American past, let alone the past in general. The pendulum swings. This might get worse before it gets better. Germany and Japan grew after Nazism. China, despite its flaws, has seen their people grow happier and i

This is not something you can fix overnight. I am afraid the US has begun its downward spiral into the gutter already. It will be very difficult to extricate yourselves now. I apologise for the harsh words but I live in one such democratic gutter already and am speaking from experience.

The rate at which the deconstruction of the United States is progressing is very scary. It seems as if they want to make the former USSR look great, and every individual and institution that could do something about it is standing by with their hands in the air saying 'it wasn't me'. Tech dominance will be the least of the problem, that assumes a large variety of good outcomes where bad outcomes are now a real possibility.

Parts of the US are turning into Third World conditions. But don't tell the elite that. They're doing fine, and they have numbers that tell them how great everything is. Orwell meets pre-collapse USSR, with homages to a number of empires of yesteryear, overlaid with a Gilded Age veneer.Something with as much momentum as the United States will not peacefully come to a full stop. It may continue to slide to a slow halt, or explosively disassemble in some fashion.
