Given how bad Apple is at fixing bugs, does it even matter?
Yes.. Too bad we ended up here :(, It's Apple's Software Quality Crisis: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=43243075
Something is indeed borked: Apple's (lack of) QA, bug fixing, and attention to detail.
That's less of an Apple problem and more of a developer problem.
How about trying to get Apple to fix problems like these?
Why? Apple has botched software before (mobileme, continually shipping old OpenGL, WiFi issues, etc).
idk why there's so much negativity in your comment, tbh. i don't think that's how apple is at all, and a lot of issues are simply a result of too many priorities and things falling through cracks until improvements are made on focus and development efforts. it's not as malicious as you think
Having briefly worked (as a grunt with no visibility into exec decisions) in the maelstrom that is apple, I think the only sinister thing that could be happening is no one has an incentive to fix things like this, they only get exposure / promotions on shipping new features or large quality bugs. And so if they weren't bothered by it, and no execs we're bothered by it, it would just go unfixed.
Telling your users that it's Apple's fault is not a solution. The app is still broken.
Has Apple done anything to fix this yet?
