This post sums up one of the reasons I'm so glad I no longer use windows.
Yikes. I'm glad I do not use Windows anymore
Why not give up on Windows and switch to any of popular Linux distros?
I just can't imagine ever going back to Windows.
Switched to PopOS 4 years ago before that was using Ubuntu. Haven't found a need to use windows ever since. Do yourself a favor and switch.
I switched from windows 7 to Ubuntu and never looked back. Bizarrely I find desktop Linux to be closer to the (very good) windows 7 experience than modern windows is. I detest the nagginess and ads in windows now. Not to mention trying to force Microsoft accounts to use your own damn computer. Meanwhile Apple is slightly better but wants to wall the garden on Mac, scaring people away from using software that apple didn’t approve.
I've been using XFCE in my laptop for several years, because I don't have to wake up to some BS every now and then.I do have Windows long term corporate whatever in my desktop, so to avoid most of the crap. I'm not very much a game, but I game from time to time. Didn't tested gaming in linux yet, but I'm not afraid.I guess that if somewhere in the future Microsoft tries to make me swallow ther BS I'll just switch and be done with it. Ill suck it up with any di
I've used Windows nearly my entire life, save for brief dalliances with Kubuntu in my teens and Mac as an adult. Even though I'm happy to see that Microsoft is giving back more to open source than they were twenty years ago, I'm done with Windows as of this year. Between the loss of control, the advertisements, and the dark patterns, I can't stand using it anymore. Just picked up a System76 for my new daily driver and it's been a great experience.Windows is racing to
I don't use it, as I don't like having a monkey on my back. I had the unfortunate experience of having to install it today after losing a long battle to get Fusion 360 running smoothly on Linux. I can say first hand that Windows has become so much more mediocre than I remember; everything about it screams "we cater to the average and mundane".
the only reason i've been using their shit is because i rely on software that doesn't exist on linux for certain hobbies and it was still drastically superior to windows which i refuse to use for any reason in my personal time, but now that it's not even better anymore, i'd rather just abandon those hobbies.
