Manhattan sucks but NYC has great neighborhoods
You should really get out of NYC sometime. Pretty much every city and even mid-sized town in the US has what you're describing. A lot of it is far easier to navigate than Brooklyn as well.
was a great place when I lived in NYC but yeah don't see it working in suburban areas
NYC is a big place and its not all the same. One could, for example, live in Brooklyn, pay a more reasonable rent and be surrounded by interesting people all with access to great food and bars. I suppose you could stretch that a bit further to Queens as well. Manhattan itself is quickly changing into a business district. You go there to work, grab dinner or hit the theater, then leave.
Maybe your experience was caused by NYC? I find it quite good except big cities such as NY and London
I'm specifically talking about NYC.It's definitely the people.
NYC seems like bad default example. I had to check other cities to "get" what's this site about. With NYC - everywhere is similarly far.
NYC wouldn't be my first choice of a place to live. This sounds stressful.
It's definitely less refined and consistent outside of NYC.
