How reliable is IP geolocating nowadays?
Maybe it uses your IP to guess at a location?
too bad IP geolocation is pretty bad. if you're lucky you'll get the city correct but that's about it.
GeoLocation appears to default to the country this service is hosted instead of the country the request is coming from; as a result, report claims the foreign IP addresses are called when they're not.
Current IP is not the only way to do geolocation. IIRC it's not good enough to be compliant with at least some EU data rules
geo lookup isn't that accurate yet (I assume you are talking about geo-IP lookup).
Google's GeoIP is rubbish for me. Often it's hundreds of kilometres off, and varies a lot even for a fixed IP.
what service are you using for IP geolocation?
Neat tool, would love to be able to set the location when the registered IP location isn’t accurate.
