The "vouch" link only appears for [dead] submissions and comments. If you believe a submission has been flagged in error, you can email the mods via the Contact link in the footer.
In my experience, vouching becomes available once a post is [dead], not simply [flagged].
It’s only visible in the individual comment view (like the flag link) iirc, and it’s only available for dead (not just flagged) comments. For example, I have a vouch link available for this comment:https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=16439776You might want to shoot the mods an email to check the if there’s something particular with your account.
You can 'vouch' a comment, if you want to get it unflagged.
"Vouch" only appears for dead/flagged comments, for about two weeks from submission.
Slightly OT: I see this post is now flagged, but I don't see how to 'vouch' it. I used to see the 'vouch' link. Did it go away, and now the flagging is removed only if it gets enough upvotes, gets mod approval, etc.? Or did I specifically lose 'vouch' privileges?
As I understand it, vouch appears if it's [dead]. Under this assumption, this one was [flagged][dead], and your vouch removed the [dead] tag.
Seems like for [dead] only? I don't see a vouch button & I have > 2k karma.
Vouch works only on [dead] submissions and comments. The counter to [flagged] (as opposed to [flagged][dead]) is upvote.
The vouch link is available if you have sufficient karma and the submission is dead (not just flagged).
