Absolutely! I still tend to stop and edit and overthink way too much to finish longer things, so tomorrow I'm starting https://nanowrimo.org/ to attempt to actually finish a novel draft without any second guessing. It's in the same spirit as the freewriting exercise, just extended to a month. :)

Great advice. Funny enough, just today I had idea to start writing a book. I wrote one page introduction and than got bored. Will have to train my writing muscle bit more.

Plan to do the smallest 'next' thing. Don't think about the size of the entire work, which can be daunting and discouraging. Always only think about the first smallest thing you can do. For me this will often be a meta-thing, like prepare my physical space with what I need close-by, or make an empty directory for the files that will be there and one empty outline.txt file, etc. Basically even while procrastinating, reduce the barrier to actually starting.Also don't think y
